Clinical Trials Methodology Workshop

Description: This intensive 6½-day workshop will train residents, fellows, and junior faculty in clinical trials protocol development. The participant will undergo a competitive application and selection process, advance preparation, pretest, didactic sessions, one-on-one mentoring, small discussion sessions, self-study, protocol synthesis process, and posttest. Topics covered during the course may include clinical study design, biostatistics, multi-institutional studies, human subjects investigations, and regulatory processes. The expected outcome of the workshop will be a well-developed clinical trial study design ready for development into a grant application for external funding. The workshop will be held January 10–16, 2009.
